My First YouTube Video?
Technically not my first YouTube video, but definitely my first YouTube video to go public and not be shared while unlisted beforehand. As stated in the description, I downloaded a bunch of mods from GameBanana and a couple other places to spice up the game. You'll notice that the game crashed at the very end while playing Mariachi Madness. The most likely explanation is that there were technically too many enemies on the screen. As it turns out, the Glotoads replace much of the canon fodder in this game, using the behavior and weaknesses of the standard Toad (on the ground, sword only):
- They can't spawn on snakes properly and can't survive on the spiky snakes at all.
- I wasn't defeating them, and the game doesn't have despawn protocol at this rate because generally the player needs to defeat all enemies to complete a music level without dying.
- Because they weren't despawning, the game had too many enemies to deal with and just crashed my game. Clearly, they had enough of me and my bullshit.
Now, it is possible to play through Mariachi Madness like this. After I recorded the video, I went back in and tried playing through while defeating all of the Glotoads. This seemed to fix the problem, and I played through the level after all the snakes just fine. Still confused as to why the fire didn't just kill them, though. I'll probably record that next, because it's really interesting to see! (Also really funny to see me playing as normal without the enemies, too!)
