fROTHING at the mouth since 2019, how the actual FUCK does Rayman Origins make "goofy" and "unserious" instruments sound so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD it's like looking at "The Creation of Adam"
I'm of course talking about:
- kazoo
- ukulele
- boomwhackers
- banjo
- high-pitched singing solo with a mouth full of water
- an old woman singing poorly on purpose and then SCREAMING
- anytime there's screaming actually
- whatever was going on in escape the disco
- jawharp
also same soundtrack that used a 7/8 time signature in one of the songs for Sea of Serendipity, I'm in love
and why does the brass sound SO GOOD like whoever was playing the trumpets did not need to go that hard
and actually anytime you're in the electoon rooms in Desert of Didgeridoos, that song is really good (fun fact, the end-of-level door in Rayman Legends uses that same song, but with just the ukulele and percussion and only the first eight measures I think)
Rayman Origins is really what I think of when I think of a gaming renaissance, when gaming becomes an art form rather than a product to be sold over and over again at exorbitant prices (which is why the gaming renaissance is over)
