Calm

I'm finding that I'm more likely to be calm and relaxed when it's raining outside, even though today I didn't like the fact that I was legiterally chilled to the bone due to the sudden drop in temperature. It was no more than 60°F (~16°C) outside today, which is typical for fall weather. What ends up happening is once we're outside in cold air like this, we stay cold, even if we go back inside and sit in front of a heater (we do this a lot at our parents' house).

The only cure is scalding hot shower and to change into clothes that we haven't worn outside. Bonus points if those clothes are fresh out of the dryer, then we feel extra cozy. I know that back in New York, we would get a gradual ease into fall, even though it wouldn't make it any less cold, but I swear last week I was sweating it out in swim trunks and a t-shirt.

I guess it's time for hot tea and blankets and wearing socks indoors, the latter of which I hate. Ever since I spent this past summer wearing flipflops on errands and walking barefoot outside, my feet feel constricted anytime they wear anything. Maybe it's time to switch to barefoot shoes and toed socks if I can muster up the money for it without wondering if I'll have enough for groceries next week. I love being in college and the job market being busted. :'D

Despite the weather doing what it's doing, I've been doing really well in my classes. I have a paper due this Friday, and I'm having to rewrite the entire thing, but as long as I focus, I'll at least have something that does as well if not better than my papers usually go.

Did I mention I'm graduating in December? Can't wait to do the classic shake-take and then maybe flip off the entire campus (unless they take my diploma back but to be honest? the campus I'm going to does not care about the students at all, bleeds them dry and doesn't care for their wellbeing or safety whatsoever so they deserve to be flipped off).

It is officially late when I write this, so goodnight now. :)
